Crystal Ridge Lavenders is situated in Stanthorpe on Queensland's Granite Belt (famous for its icy cold winters and many Wineries).  Don & Trish Gaske commenced planting lavender in the summer of 1999.

"The idea to grow lavender came from the huge lavender bush in our front garden from which we picked nearly a thousand flower spikes.  This will be easy... we thought!!!  The following winter, that beautiful lavender bush succumbed to a huge frost and died overnight!

After doing some trial plantings, we found out which varieties suited our harsh climate and planted Lavandula Angustifolia 'Swampy', Lavandula x intermedia 'Miss Donnington' and Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso'.

We are long time members of the peak Australian Lavender Industry body - TALGA (The Australian Lavender Growers' Association Inc.)

Over the last four years, we have consistently won first place with our dried lavender at the annual TALGA Conference and in 2007, took out the award for best Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso' essential oil.

Initially, we sold our dried lavender, lavender craft products and lavender lotions and potions at the local markets.  In 2003, to coincide with the TALGA Conference that was held in Stanthorpe that year, we opened our farm and retail shop to the public.

Our shop stocks all of our handmade lavender products as well as a large array of lavender gift lines - candles, china, tea towels and teddy bears amongst other things.  In spring and summer, we also have a range of lavender plants for sale.

Our farm is situated five minutes east of Stanthorpe, at 10 Daniells Lane, off Amosfield Road.

We are open six days a week from 9:00am to 5:00pm, closed Wednesdays and Christmas Day only.

We also sell our wares at the local 'Market in the Mountains' which is held fortnightly on a Sunday.  Buses are most welcome, as are picnickers.  We provide a lovely covered patio area where you can sit and enjoy the view, take in the fragrances and relax!!!"
